Super Junior's Super Show 3 Manila Experience!

It's been a month already but it seems that everyone is still talking about the Super Junior concert experience. Yes I admit, everything that happened in Araneta Coliseum is still fresh in my thoughts...So let's try to reminisce my own experience in Super Show 3 Manila..(^_^)

The Super Show 3 Concert adverstisement

Actually, I've been talking about this concert since November 2010. My friend who was a Kpop fanatic knew about this too. We really wanna go to the concert, however we can't afford the ticket price...(we're poor 'ya know..hahaha) So it had been difficult for us to go. I also informed my sister about this. You can't say officially that my sister is a Super Junior fan 'coz when you ask her to name all the members, she could only give you three answers and that would be Siwon, Shindong and Sungmin...haha...Well her favorite songs are It's You and No Other..Her ultimate bias is Siwon. After she knew the info. She refused to go to the concert even though she can afford the SVIP seat price (that time she still had a call center job). Her reason? It's too expensive! Well, yeah, I admit, a one night concert costs that much and I would say that we're not really addicted ones like the others.

So time passed by so quickly. Three weeks before the concert, I really feel the urge to go, why you say? Imagine that the most popular and the biggest Korean Pop boy band composed of originally thirteen members, will be having a concert here again in the Philippines and that might be their last. This is a rare chance as you may see...I joined all the promos really, desperate to win...especially that MYX Promo which gives you the chance to win four tickets! Imagine FOUR?!! I could bring two more friends if I'd actually win. Unfortunately, luck hasn't favored me this time. I mentioned before that my sister isn't a major major SuJu fanatic, that's why I am astonished one day that she expressed how she really want to go to SS3! Earlier February she already quit on her job so I ask her, "Where should we get money for tickets eh?" Her reply, "Go and ask Tatay! (Father) Say to him that I'll repay him after I find another job." So that's how we got our tickets five days before the concert. My father really had his objections at first, but immediately after  he gave unto my plead.

Our General Admission ticket...keke, my sister took this and posted on her FB profile, probably bragging off. HAHA

My sister was much more excited than I was. During that last few days before the event, I was busy studying for quizzes at school so I'm not thinking about it that much. We both exclaimed to ourselves that we shouldn't expect to see the boys so close for we got the cheapest and the available ticket on hand, the General Admission ticket and it was on a 'first come, first serve' basis. So my unnie was begging me to come to Araneta very early so that we would get the first row on the Gen. Ad. But what should I do, although I want the idea, there was the fact that we had class on that day, the first subject was Database and it was one of my major subject, another one was minor. I decided to be absent on my second subject, still she was pleading that I should skip my first subject too. But I didn't yield. We always said to each other that our ticket had the farthest view so don't expect too much. In a way, we had a little solution for that, bring BINOCULARS. Yeah! We had one..haha.

The day finally came, I attended  my first class. It was 2PM already and my sister was waiting for me on a convenient store in Bicutan. As I read before, gates would be opened at 4PM and the concert will start at 7PM. We rode MRT and you would see Filipino fan girls piling inside with their Super Junior fan shirts, bags, badges and of course  lightsticks. So yeah, we arrived at the Araneta Coliseum past 3PM...
This was a photo taken from my phone, I was getting more excited especially when I saw all Super Junior fans already in queue.

See that?! They're all E.L.Fs' ~ Super Junior's official fanclub name. I'm an ELF too.^_^ credits to the owner of the photo.

"Where's should we line up?", I asked my sis...We asked the guard and directed us to the queue...Waaa! We're almost at the end of the line..but many still came so we were really not on the end. At the middle perhaps? When we were on our post, I was able to talk to (about seconds only) an auntie, should I say, I thought that time that she was already on her forties. She said to me, "I thought I was the oldest here, but I saw a grandma attending the concert too..." I smiled at her and asked, "Did you come here alone?"...She replied, " No, they're all on the Upper B box ticket queue.." Then the line moved so I wasn't able to continue talking to her. Somehow I felt sorry for her, she doesn't have a company to talk to...Meanwhile, I was observing the other fans, they all had their lightsticks. Actually it was a requirement of the ELF Philippines to all who would come to the concert. We don't have any, luckily, there were some vendors who still had lightsticks on hand. I remained on the queue and my sister bought the lightstick, I carefully and repeatedly reminded her that she must buy the blue one. Sapphire blue was the Super Junior's official color. So if you accidentally bought a different color without knowing that fact, you will be left out and considered as naive. HAHAHA...Oh oh, the battery-operated lightsticks were nowhere to be found so my sis got a 'bend and snap' lightstick instead...Traditional eh? At least we still had a lightstick, yeah! Ready to rock!

We were supposed to by this one, unluckily there were no vendors left with this item so we got a bend and snap lightstick instead..huhoo.

Woho! 1 hour and thirty minutes passed and were almost at the entrance for the Gen. Ad ticket...My sis and I were so giggling due to excitement. We heard the sound inside, some were screaming already. Now, I stepped past the door...My eyes dazzled as I saw the concert stage. As I was walking, my eyes focused on the stage, I was saying to my sister, " Waaa!!! It's HUUUGE! So well-equipped! "...I didn't realize there was a step higher already, a stair, and I almost fell down...HAHAHA, lucky me, I was able to grasp on the bag of the girl in my front..Woo.Thank God!

This is the first photo taken by me inside Araneta.

Fans flooded in on the SVIP area.

I really didn't expect that view we had on the General Admission area. As I said earlier, we expected a farther one, but thank God, it was totally beyond my expectation, I know my sis felt the same way too. Araneta Coliseum was not that big as I had expected it to be...Why? Because I'm always watching concerts of my fave artists on youtube and the concert stage on other countries such as Thailand and Japan are much more wider and huge. Some concerts I've seen was held in a baseball stadium. But I am thankful for this fact that Araneta is not that big. You can still recognize the artists, plus we have binoculars...bwahaha.

We waited for 2 hours more until the concert started. I spent that time talking on my new friends. They were not a 'major major' Super junior fan too like us...They were more of a BEAST and U-Kiss fan. I, too expressed that my favorite band is FTIsland...I was so calm talking to them, getting to know each other...We both agreed that BEAST is also a great Kpop boy group for they are on my top 2 best group list. ^_^

Araneta was full of energy from the 10,000 Filipino fans present that time, buzzing noises here and there, sometimes screaming as they see their bias' picture on some of the advertisement being played on the big monitor. Fifteen more minutes passed, the lights went off!! All was screaming hard including me...I was having goosebumps on that loud scream and the enormous energy given off by all of the fans. Plus, the Sapphire Blue Sea which I anticipated the most...now clearly visible on everyone's eyes...Almost all are holding their lightsticks up high!
That's why every ELF must bring their light stick...to create that Sapphire blue ocean...It was so stunning view.

I was screaming so hard too! My sister suddenly nudged me screaming in a fangirl-way..." CHIN!! Andun sila sa bilog! Waaa! "(Chin! Look they're inside that circle!) I directed my attention to the circle, grabbed my binocular and peeked...Gyaaa! I saw SiWon's hair...goosebumps again! Then, the loud music began, it was an instrumental though. The spotlight was focused on one member, and he rose slowly on air like an angel..he was dazzling and shining on that white suit...I immediately previewed the sight on the binoculars...that was really astonishing, it was Donghae, his expression, it was epic! With closed eyes he rose above!! I didn't realized I was screaming so hard to extent that my lungs would fell off, "Donghae! Donghae! WuHooo!!" What an introduction was that!!! Then the whole band danced their popular song Sorry, Sorry in a remixed version, then Super Girl!

This is my own shot from my cam. From our view. He was stunning!

Super Junior "Sorry Sorry" performance.

Here's a video, it's not mine, credits to the owner:

I'm still having goosebumps whenever I remembered that. Next to Sorry, Sorry was their hit rock song, Don't Don...The fans were not only squealing but also doing fan chants. Sometimes, we would together sing with the boys. Next was self-introductions, a video was played on the screens and then a little talk with the fans. They were naughty boys really, they were like kids playing on the stage. The solo dance and song performance followed by...Ryeowook together with my bias Sungmin performed a particular song, I don't know the title though, Sungmin was playing the guitar while Ryeowook was singing. I don't know the particular order but these are what they did on the concert (Solo and sub-group category) :

  • Sungmin had a hot dance number together with four other GIRL dancers...(grrr!)
  • EunHyuk danced "Down", ( it's an American song, sorry I don't know the artist who sang it) as usual his powerful dancing skills immersed the stage.
  • SiWon sang a Christian song. (my sister was completely engrossed by his performance, haha...Afterall, Siwon is her bias.)
  • Yesung sang the Cinderella's Sister OST, "It has to be You"...(The fans sang together, he was quite impressed because we synchronized with him, in accurate Korean lyrics!) :)
  • Kyuhyun sang New Endless Love...(sooo good-looking guy)
  • This is what I'm looking forward for: Heechul's Lady Gaga parody and Shindong as Beyonce! The two boys transformed, Heechul as Lady HeeHee and Shiyonce. Heechul took his solo performance with Lady Gaga's Bad Romance as the background song...It was so EPIC! Heenim really knows how to entertain the fans! Ang landi ni HeeChul,, gwabeee!
Lady Hee Hee! Even the boy fans seated at our back were screaming for him!

  • Next performers were Shiyonce's group, Shindong together with his backup dancers, DongHae and Eunhyuk! Hahaha...Their outfit, gyaaa...it was so tight and they were wearing heels. Eunhyuk was quite uncomfortable though. They were shaking their butts in the song Single Ladies! I was laughing hard!

Did I forgot any solo performance? (>.<)

One memorable performance also was when they sang No Other...Well, I became an official fan because of this song so I appreciated it much when they performed it on stage. Sungmin and Leeteuk floated on the air with balloons with them. They also scattered confetti's on the air...

Another production number that impressed me sooo much was that Tribute for KangIn! The technology they used was so sophisticated. The members were sitting doing an imaginary acts of playing a piano, violin, trumpet and other instruments. They were behind that transparent screen and then KangIn would appear beside each member like he was touching them while they were playing an imaginary musical instrument. I was amazed, "Waaaa! How did they did that?! AWESOME!" That part was little touchy and heartwarming. You will really feel that the remaining members really misses KangIn so much. Btw, if you don't know, Kangin is in military training. The fans were sobbing at that moment. Watch this and see Kangin's hologram.

Oh! Before I forgot! Gyaaa! Henry Lau's solo performance!!! How come I almost forgot that astounding performance! Well, I would narrate it to you slowly... The spotlight was focused on the other side of the stage, and I was surprised for there was a grand piano...Henry was seating in front of it, dressed simply on a white shirt and denim pants. What caught my attention was his cooool hairstyle, a part of his back hair was standing on its end, like Uchiha Sasuke's hair if I may say so. Then the next thing he did was of course, he played the piano with some breaks. Every break he made, he would look at us for impressions and making us guess the song. We, the fans, were on the ' figuring out' stage. My seatmates were saying, "What song was he playing?" But, I, who already saw this performance on Youtube already knew what song it was..ugh, Bieber's "Baby". I shoved my sis and said to her, "Waa! I hate that song! But if it will be performed by Henry, I could bear to sing!" And yeah, the next thing I realized was myself already singing with him...he was so lovely. He got up from the piano and then he danced the song. My sis and I immediately fell in love with him. He was full of charms!

Henry can play many instruments, very talented guy. but he was specially known for playing the violin. Credits to owner of the photo.

He was dancing to "Baby" here...

The concert ended with their "Cooking! Cooking!" song...they were so cute for they were wearing a vegetable costumes. My favorite costume was Sungmin's and Eunhyuk. The Squash Sungmin played with the fans. He pretended to lay on the floor and then he started rolling left and right wearing that cute costume...aaah, so so charming! Eunhyuk's costume caught my attention too, it was a Mongo Sprout/Bean sprouts, really cute!

Sungmin rolled on the floor. HAHA. He really can't stand up properly!
The boys thanked the Filipino fans for attending the concert. Leeteuk, the group's leader further talked to the fans with the help of Henry as his translator. He expressed how thankful they were seeing us cheering them so loudly...Henry further said, "Of all the countries we've been to, PHILIPPINES is the LOUDEST!" Of course we squealed more...hahaha. I love you Henry!!! The four boys then gave a thumbs up for Manila. They were Henry, Donghae, Yesung and Eunhyuk! That was a great concert indeed! It would be forever remembered by the fans. It was all epic. Super Junior, no doubt was one of the best performing groups in the world! more power to them and all the ELFs in the world esp. the FILIPINO ELFs...ho YEAH!

Actually my sister got the most hangover of the concert..She always says that she can't forget all that happened inside Araneta. She was saying to me that she always think about it, still spazzing about everything that had happened. She was really overwhelmed by Siwon's hotness, she can't particularly forget his smoking HOT ABS. ^_^

Other things that happened in the concert as what I have remembered, it's been a month now..keke:

  • Shindong hurt his ankle, on the song "Cooking?Cooking! He laid on the floor holding his ankle i\with a painful look. Almost all of the boys came to him looking all worried, Heechul offered a piggy backride, but he can't bear Shindong's weight..haha. So there goes Super Siwon...and pooof! Siwon successfully carried Shindong away to the backstage!
First it was Heechul, but I guess  his strength wasn't enough for a man as big as Shindong so....

...Siwon ended up carrying Shindong instead.Sweet!

  • TRAX sang some parts on Don't Don production number, Heechul played the drums and Baby Henry played his violin!

Credits to the owner as indicated on the photo itself.
  •  TRAX also performed their popular song, "Oh! My Goddess"...The drummer and the bassist was both Filipinos.
  • Heechul kissed a fan girl on the lips named Cassie, she is only four years old. Donghae kissed Cassie's hand too.
  • Sungmin grabbed a Toblerone chocolate bar from a fan on the SVIP area. He opened it and divided the chocolates then he threw the chocolate back to the fans.
  • Leeteuk, before taking his leave, spotted a grandma fan. He took off his shirt and gave it off to the lucky grandma. He's kind!

Our original photos taken from the concert, my sister and I:

My sis didn't realized that the banner was turned upside down.LOL

The little banner I was holding was given off by ELF Ph organizers I think...
